About OKTAMO

OKTAMO is a navigator to barcodes and product identification. It explains how the system works and helps you find the right next step.

What OKTAMO is not

OKTAMO is independent. It is not part of GS1 or any GS1 member organisation, and it does not issue barcode numbers.

The name is pronounced ok-TA-mo. It has no connection to Okta, Inc., which works in a different field, or to any government classifier with a similar name.

How the pages are checked

Every guide lists its sources and the date they were checked. We rely on the organisations that publish the rules. If a fact cannot be traced to one of them, it does not go on the page.

Rules and prices change, and retailers, marketplaces and regulators set their own requirements. Confirm anything important with them before you print or buy.
